Do what the rest of us do. Buy it from overseas. Its the only way lately. You will probably get it cheaper any way!
Try this

VXfan, you might not be missing much. Word from overseas collectors who had this model for a couple of weeks is that its a dog and the bodywork is best displayed seperately to the car.
Here's what was said about the Jones Williams FW07B on the Autobarn 1:43 forum :
How does the bodywork fit on your FW07B? Because on mine its dreadful, leaves a huge gap around the front of the car. The only relief is that being a dark colour it doesn't stand out much. If the car was white in that area it would look awful. Not one of PMAs best.
Nevertheless, as Aussies we've waited too long for this model and we'll buy it regardless of the quality. I'll pick mine up next week.

Thanks for ur replies guys.I was just astounded that for such an important car (in this country anyway)that there was no big announcement that it was going to be in stock.Regardless of the quality, the achievement by Alan Jones for Australia was huge and I thought this model warranted a lot more coverage than a miniscule line in a newsletter(yes,I discovered it on the last newsletter eventually)
Ur probably right though, buying thru ebay here and overseas is cheaper, heck, that's how I got my Damon Hill model.
I reckon Minichamps are treating this country like some backwater hicksville which disgusts me.
Went into a Gamesworld this morning to see if they would be getting any of these models. The answer I got was "No,not a lot of call for it here"
Huh?!!Model of an Australian F1 World champion with not much call for it?!!
Cheers,
Tony

Well that might be correct in overall view!
The 1/43 polistill models have been out for 25 years or more and at swapmeets there are plenty for sale at very low $$.
THE Minichamps model is one I want ,to go with the 1979 model.
I would like them in 1/18 scale as well!

You have to remember Tony, that to Minichamps (and to most of the other diecast manfacturers) we are a "backwater". There is not a huge demand for MC models in Australia beyond the odd F1 car (Webber, Jones, F1 champion). For every fan of Le Mans, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, etc. models, there are 50 people who collect V8 Supercars. So where Biante may make 3000 Bathurst winners, pretty much guaranteed to sell the lot, it makes no sense to import too many DTM cars, for instance.
It's been my experience that the best thing to do is visit the wheel-o'-eBay for 1:43 MC models that haven't been released in Australia yet, they can be up to 30% cheaper if you are savvy about it. Of course it's the reverse for 1:18, where the postage costs cancel out the advantage. I'm still waiting for my 1991 Cecotto DTM BMW that wasn't sent to my retailer.....

Hi Guys,
I got one of these from England at the start of February (yes, I'm impatient!!). If you liked the 1979 car, you'll like this one. I have no problems with it. Like the '79 car, it takes a bit of pushing and shoving to get the cowling locked down. But once it's in place properly, it looks great. The trick is to get the nose to click on.
This is one of my holy grails, AJ's championship car has been high on my list since I first started collecting... Now for Nelson's '87 championship, sometime soon, I hope.

Hey Dingo......
Which scale M3 Cecotto are you looking for???
Is it the 1/43 or 1/18.......I had the same problem
my regular diecast stockist lost my order.......I placed
an order on this model back in June 2003 when I saw it
on the Biante order-sheet along with Soper/Bigazzi car
and neither model appeared.....
Then I decided to "Bite-the-Bullet", I went down to
Geelong to see what 'JAYS' -the cardshop had in stock
in regarding obsolete Minichamps items.....and as I was
looking down the bottom of the cabinet and I couldn't
believe what I was seeing.....the 1/18 Cecotto/Schnitzer
car and I quickly on the spot purchased it......but if you
are interested there is another one still in the shop for
$115 ......
I hope this would help.......

Amen on that. A 1/18 Jones Williams from 1980 would probably have to be the most wanted model for my collection.

I brought my Minichamps Willaims FW07 from Biante some time ago (2 yrs maybe), looks great with body work on, no gaps!
Obviously they are bringing them in again, so what is all the fuss about? As I said, purchased mine direct from Biante over 2yrs ago. Is this another run of the same model??

Dave, the car released 2 years ago was the 1979 FW07 not the 1980 championship winning FW07B. The 1980 car has never been released until now.

Thanks for the heads-up, I'll be in Geelong in a couple of weeks and I'll pay a visit to them. If they sell out in the meantime, oh well...
