Photographer's opinons wanted

Hi ho photo people, I am look at getting another lense for my 350D as my 55-200mm EF Ultrasonic barely does the job at QLD raceway, now I am not looking at somthing super expensive....it is a 350D after all, I have had a look at the EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM for about $1100, what are people thoughts on the lense, is there a similar priced lence that does a hellva lot better job?

That's a good zoom lens with a great focal range. If you hunt around you might find a used L series lens (try a good camera shop) for the same money, or parallel import one from the US.

Thats a good lens for the money. If you could scrape up another $1100 you could get a 100 - 400 IS USM. $2349.I bought one not long ago for when i go to Western Sydney International Dragway. Awesum lens. I also had a 75-300mm lens but i just could not get enough of the cars in the view finder. The 100-400 fill the view finder. You could try looking for a second hand one but i dont like your chances. People snap them up quick smart.

ebay is your best option.

Be carefull buying second hand it's highly unusual for someone to sell a "Good" lense hey dont want anymore.
