thats a bit clearer...
looks like the same wheels as the brut but in gold.
it will look nice in the case next door to it
i still think the other 2 74 brut 33 cars would look good too

Some very nice footage of it on the Bathurst '75-'85 video. Love the sound of the V8 as it climbs Mountain Straight!

Curious to some history behind this model and how come it got a DNF after 40 laps...

This leaves only 2 models left in the planned Moffat collection... I bet there a few people with them all *lucky you know whats!* :D

The 1975 'City Ford' is the 1974 'BRUT 33' car revamped.

At Bathurst 1975, Moffat suffered gearbox and front suspension woes, bowing out of the running after 109 laps. He did lead the race for some time in the early stages after starting from second position off the front row.

Thanks Graeme.

So other than the paint scheme the car was the same as the Brut33.

Typical Ford hey Failing On Race Day...LOL :D Just kidding Ford fans.

I wonder how many times Ford 'might' have won had they not have failed @Bathurst?

So I wonder if they will make Moffats last race, race car ???

The ANZ Sierra that won the 500km race on Alan's 50th birthday (I think it was his 50th birthday ???)

Does anyone know where that race was held & who he shared the drive with ???

I can't remember this as the win didn't get much publicity in Australia & think the race was in Asia.

cheers.

It was the Mt Fuji 500 held in Japan in 1988 after Bathurst.
The model I suggested was the Moffat 1988 Bathurst Sierra with was his last Bathurst with Gregg Hansford(died 1995) and German Klaus Niedzick. There was a documenary done on his 1988 Bathurst like Brocks ones from 97 and last year.

For all of you Moffat fans, Quartzo made a nice 1:43 model of the Porsche 935 K3 with 'Apple Computers' sponsorship Moffat drove at Le Mans in 1981 together with Bobby Rahal.

Despite the car recording a DNF this is now one of the rarest models made by Quartzo and some dealers are asking up to US$ 149 each for them. Perhaps one day it will be made in 1:18.

For those looking for this car the code is Q3011.

Sammy,

Moffat took part in a documentary of his team at the 1988 Bathurst Tooheys 1000, produced as a joint ANZ / DUNLOP promotional video of about 90 minutes duration.

I can do a copy for you ...contact me by email at home :

As far as Moffat cars go, the one I am waiting for is the giant killing 1982-84 Group C Mazda RX-7.

Any comments admin as to when this one might be happening :)

My XB GT City Ford has just been unpacked and placed in the cabinet alongside, actually in between, the Brut 33 and the Moffat Ford dealers XB's, and looks sensational in its blood red and gold colours. The drivers collection series is an excellent product and miles ahead of any series of photos in a book.
Thanks B & T for what we have and are about to receive.

I can't believe my luck, went to a carshow/swapmeet and got a whole banana box of car magazines, 80's and 90's, can't wait to post pictures of historic car moments from the 80's and 90's. Like the above one, and the below advert.

I think the tooling has been done for all scales for the road car.
The 1:64th is in the latest Kyosho catalogue.
