Last night i went to the monthly swap meet at granville ( sydney).
I had not been there or at any swap meet for years, and i was surprised at the high prices.
all models were at full retail price and some more.
I must admit i was a little dissapointed and due to this i will not attend the first annual at parramata in a months time.
Has this happened to others or am i expecting too much?
your thoughts welcome.

It has been my experience that over the past dozen year swap meets have become nothing more than an extra retail outlet for those Retailers who already have a presence in the market & a place for retailers who don't have a retail outlet.
Swap meets have a rare few 'True Swap' or bargains to be had:(

My experience with model swap meets in Vic is you have top pay the extra entry price to be an "early bird", and then run around ahead of the other early birds...the bargains are usually gone within 10-15 minutes...then it is exactly as you and Ken describe...
try the model convention coming up in early august might be something your after there
