it says "It is a must have collectible for any V8 Supercar, Bathurst, motor sport fan". sorry, a motorsport fan wouldnt take part in it or find it funny IMO.

Agree 100%.
I don't see the fascination in wrecking and burning cars and generally acting like a d***head bogan.Having not been to Bathurst I hope this isn't the norm as I wouldn't appreciate travelling all the way up there (and paying a lot of money too) to have to put up with that crap.
Sorry if I sound like a boring old fart but all that nonsense has nothing to do with motorsport in my eyes, just a bunch of pr***s acting like drunken hoons.
Cheers,
Tony.

Some pubs in Bathurst were showing this ridiculus video and a longhaired, spookylooking creature had them for sale.
From heresay, he was not very succesfull flogging his trash.
(I did see it being shown in the 'Holden" named/bannered pub on the main drag last year during the racemeet.)

Yeah the drunken hoons are generally drunk from about noon wednesday then don't remember the race because they passed out saturday night and woke up on tuesday.
Ive never been to Bathurst (4 the 1000) and i don't drink so it is not a story about me.

The Go Hard or Go Home series is interesting as you can track the changes to the behaviour up top of the mountain, the last release in 2004 was a lot tamer than the 99 and 2000 dvd's.
I've camped up top of the mountain near the 'entertainment area' for a few years now and apart from a couple of incidents (stolen mobile phone and huge mortar bomb put in our campfire early one morning) haven't had any dramas.

Yeah I went in the 90's several times and whilst there were some wild events particularly down the back it was reasonable though I would not want my missus walking anywhere by herself there or the kids for that matter but generally keep a safe distance and you won;t get hurt. I do remember getting off a shuttle bus and reid park and only 50 metres away seeing a sigma blow up when its tank ignited that was incredible....plenty of burnt wrecks. I am assuming things are a bit tamer now as some of the riff raff might have moved on, perhaps to her majesty's dwellings.......
Heck that was even back when you did not have to pay to camp.....

Don't knock the Toranas. I used to race one in speedway.
I was meaning in the days of the turbo Sierras.
You know. The time that Ford needed to use a turbo to beat the Commodore. Now they just loaded the holdens with ford bits.

AmonFan, the reason i have the username beast is because thats what everyone called me at school, considering that my name is Brian East, not because i'm a torana with a mid mounted V8. "Great weight distribution".
If only we could with speedway cars.

its great watching the old races, partically the 70's ones (not that i have much on them) and watching them go up mountain straight. looks like peak hr traffic on a normal hwy. its great watching, brock, moffat, morris, grice etc weave in and out of the smalller cars.

The race probably hasn't got as much excitement as it used to but for me just spending the week and a bit camping at the mountain, catching up with others you've met, etc and just generally unwinding from work pressures, etc is still a magical experience for me..
