View Full Version : Bathurst Winners List
Just having a look for a list of which Bathurst Winners models (Bathurst collection) in 1:18 that have been made, but can't find one
I did find on http://www.biante.com.au/faq_6.htm lists for the Allan Moffat, Peter Brock and Dick Johnson collections - is there a list for the Bathurst cars that I've overlooked somewhere else ?
If not may I suggest adding it to that FAQ list please
Thanks :)
P.S. Does someone know these cars and could list them here please ?

brock's 1980 Bathurst commodore was a VC not a VB i think, he started with the VB but updated during the year when they fitted a rear spoiler, you can see the original VB on the development approved for 1:43 scale,
Thanks Terry,
That's the info I was after

P.S. Agree with you Brutesutes about not enough soon's

troy i think you will find mate that was a vb the vc didn't come out till 1981:gear_wink2:
Brock’s 1980 Bathurst winner was a VC….
There were 13 Commodores in the 1980 event - 8 VC’s and 5 VB’s
All 8 VC’s finished, filling places 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 9th and 10th
2 of 5 VB’s finished, filling places 3rd and 22nd.
the VB that finished 3rd was the lan Geoghegan/Paul Gulson entry....
LC Torana
30-07-2006, 11:00 AM
Also there was also a 6 Cyl. VB that was in Class B (2001-3000cc) in 1980, the Alan Taylor/Kevin Kennedy entry that finished 27th, all other commodores were in Class A (3001-6000cc) -

No, not so, the VC road car was released in early 1980. Brock and the HDt debuted the VC racing car at Sandown in Sept 1980. Brock in 05; Moffat in 25.

Skaife VP or VR???
I'm sure there will be some VP's done at some stage. I listed some in another thread on what could be made. I reckon they'd make great looking models. Love those big deep front splitters.

I dont know if this has been mentioned here before, but does anyone know why the 1967 winner, which is IN Transit, is selling for only $124!!!

no sponsor royalties;)
Same reason the road cars are generally around the $130 mark.

The website was listed incorrectly. This car has extra royalties applied as both Fred and Harry have signed the certificates. The regular 1:18 race car price applies.

it's interesting to note that only 3 cars have won bathurst after qualifying outside the top 10. well, upto 2004 anyway. the bathurst history book doesn't continue after this year.

A XJS Grp A car in 1/18th is just about to be/has just been released in Europe. Apparently one of the Spa cars. It can only be a matter of time before a Bathurst version is done.

hi all just wondering which 1987 bathurst VL are most going to get...the no 10 winner or the 05 car?

I'll be getting the no.10 only, as it was the won. However i believe most will be getting both as they both are equally important. The no.10 doesn't have Brocks name on it, and as much as i'd love the no.5 as well, i only collect one car of each livery and i see no.10 as the winner and the car Brock drove to victory. I don't think anyone would be just getting the no.5 by itself?
It'd be nice of Biante could make an awesome twinset of these two... but i don't believe thats on the cards.

Definately getting both .
HQGTS74
24-08-2008, 10:12 AM
i like to collect a few of my favourite brock cars and the 87 VL is one of them along with the 79 a9x and the 84 vk so i will probably get just the 05 car as that was brocks car being the 05 car...i dont know about having the 10 in my collection although its a bathurst winner it wasnt brocks car..but he drove it to victory...:rolleyes:.its a tough one!!!!!
VE II
24-08-2008, 10:15 AM
I'd almost get the no.5 as the no.10 on the side isn't straight and it annoys me all the pics!
... HQGTS74 - not all brocks cars had the no.5 on them - like the 72 car and things like that - just a thought.
Whatever car you get is going to be important to you and have a lot of meaning - i guess half the fun... and half the frustration will be choosing which one...
HQGTS74
24-08-2008, 10:24 AM
yes i understand that but having two other brock 05 cars in my collection i would like to get 05 brock cars only and since that was the car with his name on it and the car he drove first i may get that one...need to think about it.....
thanks
VE II
24-08-2008, 10:27 AM
yeah the no.10 doesnt have his name on it. i was thinking that too when i made my preorder... so only you would really know that he drove it to victory. It definitly is a tough one. Id go no.5 in ur situation (imo) as brock did race it at Bathurst in 87 (it didnt win/finish) but it was still the car brock entered the weekend in and it has his name and number all over it.
Oh Five
24-08-2008, 10:27 AM
Spoke to my dealer yesterday and he mentioned that the majority of his pre-orders are for the #10. I ordered 2 x #10 and 1 x #05 months ago.

yep im leaning towards the 05 because i have unknowingly started putting together a brock collection:Dhehe and i dont think i will ever have a bathurst collection as there is so many cars and too expensive although i now have 4 bathurst winners:D
i think i will get Brocky's 05

Sounds good HQGTS74. At the end of the day the car has to mean something to you and 05 obviously does - so definitly get it!
Im getting the 87 as it was a bathurst winner and i was born that year and brock did drive it, but i do wish it had his name on it...

You may have the same problem when the 83 cars come out. 05 only lasted 8 laps then into #25, but at least it still has Brock on the car (phill!!)
Dont 4get that both 87 cars had "BROCK" across the windscreen!!
I hope i have confused you again:D

thats the million dollar question. Was meant to be early this year... a few of my dealers are saying Feb-March next year .... which could easily be October to November... if no 2010... :s .... but more likely to be early next year - they're starting to roll a lot of the Brock cars out so it cant be too much longer!

I've got Skaife 98 - 07 - so i'll stick with skaife... If the opportunity arises i will get Tander 08 as well ... Championship, Bathurst, overseas bargain. Its such a good livery and it wouldnt hurt having 2 of the same cars ... just this once (but not in the case of the 87 winner). Talking to Tumbo and he suggested that i should start my Tander collection and finish off my Skaife collection at the same time - and not be scared to over lap 1 or 2 years (like start Tander HRT cars 08, 09 and then go on) and get Skaifes 98-08/09 and stop when he retires - sounds like a plan anyway
