Anyone that went to the lions den opening in perth today, did anyone notice that the HRT logos around the walls were different? they look more angular and aggressive, i spoke to the owner and he was very broad and kept trying to change the subject, basically he said that he saw the HRT car designs for next year and they look very aggressive, he wouldnt even tell me the colour of the cars. anyone with any info on the 'new?' logo, please shed some light on this. (sorry no pics)

This is very interesting.

People have been saying that there may be a few changes in relation to HRT next season. Colours & now logo etc.

I'd be keen to know more if anyone knows anything.

Holden have also changed the logo the lion is much sharper on the VY. So I suppose HSV is running with that also, I also heard that the HBD division is heavily funded by HSV.? Any one know any thing about that as the HBD options list (ie leather wheel, chrome satin door handles, shifter and H/Brake are the same features that are found in the HSV range as standard items.

HBD is, as I understand it, run by HSV with John Crennen as MD.

As for the 2003 HRT livery, yes it's different and more aggressive
in line with the shape of the VY. Expect the base colour to remain
red as per link with Holden. But that's all I can tell you until
the launch next year.

HBD is a joint venture between Holden & HSV.

Most of HBD work is done at HSV in each state after they have been built in Adelide.

This is done by HSV, as the changes to the vehicles can not be done to the cars on the production line as they require more time than is allowed for on the line.

My fathers Supercharged Calais was fitted with the lower body kit by HSV in Clayton as we are in Victoria. At the time we were lead to believe, that Holden did not have the facalities to fit these extras in SA.

A word of advice though on HBD. If your car is the first of a new model, you'll proberley find that HBD will not have the parts ready for when you get the car. They seem to run on a slightly later time frame, as we had to wait 4 weeks for the body kit to be ready, as Dad ordered the new VX over the older VT at the time. This lead to the kit fitted after delivery of the car. However, it was worth the wait as it looks awesome !!!!!!!

I cant believe Mark Skaife wont be driving for HRT next year. Surely thats why they're not using his profile for this years logo..... Seriously but. It sure does go hand in hand with the VY look, dont you think.

I'm sure it's not too much trouble for one of our Perth members to get out thier digital cameras and get over to the lions den store and show us what this logo looks like?
We'll be seeing this logo heaps next year and Skaife leaving HRT next year.....woopee,if its true.

Some did take a picture of the new logo, but we have been asked to remove it from the site.
It will also be taken down in the shop. It has not been approved for showing yet.
Mark is NOT leaving HRT next year and will contest 2003 in car #1.

I can't remember who posted the picture. I seen it this morning when it was on the forum. It is basically the same as now except the lines ( corners ) are sharper as with the design of the VY.

Just to clarify what I meant by skaifes profile. I don't know if its just me, but I recon the diver on the HRT logo for this years scheme had a "distinguishing" nose and to me, looked like Skaife. The new scheme that no one has seen, has a "normal" nose a looks, to me, like joe average.
I was trying to be funny. Its not the first time my "humor" has been taken the wrong way and Im sure it wont be the last...

If you look at this Holden site (http://www.heartlandholden.com.au/) you will notice the Holden Logo is similar to the one posted earlier....

with the skaife nose issue, i cant remember what year it was but when HRT first introduced the current logo, on the press release cars, the #1 car had a distinct lowndes nose and the #2 car had a distinct skaife nose(or it may have been the 15 car). i dont know if they raced like this for the year. the lowndes nose seemed to get dropped but the skaife nose has stayed.
