I ,like many others, did have another good look at the wonderfull models made, that form the Peter Brock collection.
What a wonderfull collection it already is.
I started counting the actual winners in the collection and it dawned on me that there are still 5 Bathurst winners to be produced!
What an awsome impact Peter Brock did have on Australian Motorsport and many other facets of Australian life.
Only now , when it is to late, are we truely able to fathom the Huge Ambasador he realy was.
Lets reflect on the hero's we still have, as all of these great hero's are getting older just like all of us.

I was thinking the same. I remember only weeks ago after the 79 A9X was released everyone was getting excited about the potential release of the 84 Commodore. I know it could be years away now, but I was thinking last night that even though the car will look great in the collection, it will be missing something, a signed COA. That little personal touch that Brocky gave to the cars. I know some collectors dont give a toss about the COA and say it adds to the cost, but for me the cars are more than a simple collection on the shelf. Its about what the car stood for. Its times like this that really drive home the message of what they really stand for. When the 84 comes out it wont be the same.

I have all of the 1/18 Peter Brock Collection and I marvel at their beauty. I'm also glad to have the COA's however we will never have another COA signed by PB.

We will eventually have the 84 Bathurst winner and it will have a special significance in my display.

I'm thinking that the Brock/ Perkins Le Mans Porsche will have one when it is released this Wednesday. It will be the last and some may aprecciate it a whole lot more.

Let us hope that it is not years before the rest of the Brock collection comes out.( in particular the Bathurst winners) the one thing that will never stop is our appreciation of his ability to be a hero/friend to all.I have several extra Brock cars that were to be used as swaps at sometime in the future but my daughter has claimed them to go with the RKelly cars that she has.I hope that i live long enough to see the complete set of PB models as that was the very essence of my collection.

would you accept/look at a printed brock signiture with dod on future coa's as a mark of rememberance to the great man.

Has anyone looked on ebay today, and seen those people trying to cash in on the death of Brock. Most of the models are being asked for 4 times the price. I think its a discrace that people would take advantage of the death of this great man. Whats worse is that there are people placing bids on these items. You all should be ashamed.

Oh Five

. Whats worse is that there are people placing bids on these items. You all should be ashamed.

This has been discussed in the ebay thread, yes there are some sharks out there, but no one is forcing them to bid. I was lucky enough to get a lot of my Brock memorabilia personally autographed cars, posters, hats, etc over the past 30 years
Some people dont get that opportunity so unfortunately if they want it, then they will now have to pay for it.
I have items that i COULD put on there right now and make a substantial profit, but this man was/is my hero and i wouldnt be able to to it

Yeah sorry about that, just realised that it was mentioned elsewhere, should have looked into it first. Was so disappointed as to what I saw just jumped on the first Brock post that I saw. I am now looking at all the Brock items on ebay, can't believe the prices, just saw a 1/18 Sierra $444. Crazy

I could, but its claytons isn't it!!! The signiture you have when you dont have a signiture. The COA would look great even with a printed signiture, but the point I made was the personal touch, thats what will be lost - forever.

I know the personal touch would be lost, but the personnal touch would be the in the spirit of the cars that he drove.

Just on ebay 1800+ items at the moment it seems the the brock memarobilia buying spree has evened out a bit with no massive price spikes on items and the big ticket items(profiteers) are not even getting touched, that may change as the auction end,and people are showing some respect when it come to buy brock items,

I think we can all agree that the price of brock cars will go up and remain this way as they will be last of the signed coa part of the collection, and by me suggesting a print signiture on future cars it help maintain the prices on the personnaly signed cars

In regards to LeMans porsche, my dealer stated today it will not be released on wednesday as a sign of respect and to stop profiteering (more likely the latter).

It will however be released at a later date.

Be it model cars, t-shirts or hats, I hope they still make Brocky stuff like they do Earnhardt stuff so the fans can forever keep someone who forever changed the sport we loved in our mind.

But back to the Brock model car collection, I would love to see the A30 (his first race car) and the FX he raced in Goodwood last week (the last car he finished a race in)

Maybe by your dealer, as I already have the 1/43 scale model, released last wednesday.
If each and every one of us does get just 1 then there will be none of it left, simple.
It is a great model by the way, and I am looking forward to the 1/18 scale rendition, hopefully with a signed certificate.

Please lets keep this tread on topic and the topic being the Brock Collection in all it's glorie and items.

because Brocky was going to compete in this race i got him to sign my Seine Blue FX's cert- also on the news it said he came 4th in Goodwood an excellent achievement

also if Biante were going to print his signature maybe they should do it in a different colour to black otherwise people might claim its a ''real'' signature

I suggested that but with hes date of passing printed inderneath the signiture, which would prevent this, by puting the date it will be a reminder of a loss of a great australian

While I watched Brock as a kid in the 90s upon my return to Australia and knew the name and saw him move cars the way I could only hope to. It wasn't until earlier this yr and watching a copy of the 79 race at Wayne's place that I even considered getting any of his cars. Pre-ordered the 79 and then spent the money required to colelct a 78 to go alongside it. Both sit proudly on my desk and represent an era well before my time and the start of an amazing Bathurst run. I hoped that one day I would see his 2 hat-trick victory cars sitting alongside each other with signed certs proudly sitting on display as well. This will never happen unfortunately but that little chunk of time when Brock became GOD of the mountain will forever sit in many thousands of homes thanks to Biante but also the generosity of Brock for both his name and his time in signing our certs.

Bit late but Thanks Mate

With regards to maybe a tribute 1/18.I would love something along the lines of the model that Autobarn produced in 1/64 with his Bathurst wins printed on the roof and signature printed on the bonnet.
Can't decide whether the model should be an XU1,A9X or Commodore though.
Cheers,
Tony.

There is already a very nice, small, 1/64scale "Brocky's Last Bathurst 7th-10th Oktober 2004 model with his 9 win dates plus the outline of Bathurst circuit! #B642001M
I have seen modified versions of this one with the 1972 1/64 28c model next to it.
With so many great achievements both on and off the track the possibilities are endless.

Unfortunately the Daytona will always be remembered as the fateful car. For many the pinnacle model is the 1984 dayglo. Seen as how it is in developmental stages towards production perhaps special packaging and bases as well as larger quantities can make this the commemorative model....

Don't have a Brock collection as such, just a few in 1/43 as I came across them: 28C, black Bathurst Commodore & black Targa Monaro, 24-Hour Monaro. The 24-Hour Monaro only arrived a few days before Brockie's death. Significant, perhaps that the Targa Monaro is my 100th model?

It only struck us now that Wifey's tiny 1/64 collection is exclusively Brock: 28C, Targa Comodore Ute, a street XU-1, a red Targa Monaro & Brock's last Bathurst Commodore in the special Bathurst case. And their shelf is below my A9-X "Bar Mirror". I think she has secret "thing" for Brockie!:)

IIRC the XF he drove later went on to become a drive car for Marshall Brewer for his Thunderdome drive packages. If thats so then i can say that i have driven a Brock Race car then.

Yes he drove a NASCAR, i remember working on an AUSCAR at the same meeting. It would have been one of the biggest crowds that went to the Dome for any race.

I have been as disgusted as all of you about the lowlifes now selling their Brock stuff on Ebay - I have a fantastic collection of models, photos, shirts, posters etc on my Brock Bar & no way will any of it ever be sold. They will be my 12 year old son's one day & he loved Brocky & had met him on a number of occasions unfortunately the last time was Bathurst last year where he got another photo & his autograph - We miss you now & will come each trip up to the mountain in October - BROCKTOBER.

By the way as a mark of respect the Monaro Car Club of NSW which I am a member of have dedicated this month's club run to the great man & we have chnged our final destination in the Blue Mts to the Mountain at Bathurst. 40 of the general's finest will cruise from Sydney this coming Sunday morn to arrive up the sacred site around lunch where will we proceed to do about 5 slow laps & then have a BBQ up at Skyline. We are trying to get our patron Des West to accompany one of our members with his HT 350 GTS Monaro up there also but Des has not been in the best of health lately so we are not too sure whether he can come or not.

It should be a great run & a very special time at the top where will will leave our thoughts - there are also quite a few other Holden clubs going up also so it will be quite an emotional time. RIP Peter Brock - We are missing you & will forever.
