Had to work in bathurst today so i dropped in at the museum & then drove around the track, stopped up at Brock skyline where about 20 people were writing tributes to Brockie, the top of skyline is now covered in tributes & the council even has a sign erected telling you where you can write a tribute, nice touch i thought, but the most heart wrenching moment was when a man in his mid 50's broke down & shed a few tears, needless to say he got alot of support & pats on the back from everyone there, if any of you get a chance get up & have a look before bathurst, there are some wonderful things written, pictures with a full beer stubby next to it saying CHEERS BROCKIE, someone has even glued a 1/64 scale SLR5000 on top of the concrete fence still in its case.

Very, very fitting.

I hear that many Holden clubs from NSW are cruising to the Mountain this weekend in tribute to PB.

Also there is talk of a memorial service at the Mountain on Tuesday to coincide with his funeral in Melbourne.

Hi

I too called in to the track & museum on my way home from holidays on Friday.

On a cruise around the track, there were flowers beneath the bridge on the strating grid opposite the pit area, and as mentioned handwritten farewells & signatures on the concrete barrier wall at Brocks Skyline.

Negotiating "The Dipper" from the top of the track is interesting at post legal limit, race speed would have you exhilerated to say the least.

My self & about 40 other members in the Monaro Car Club of NSW yesterday cruised up to the mountain to honour Peter & pay our respects. It was an absolutley beautiful day warm & sunny. When we arrived at the track the procession to the top was very slow but it made doing laps of circuit even more special. There were hundreds up the top & after a few laps we pulled into the Skyline area off the track & we all walked down & looked around talked to other people & took lots of photos. It was a day to remember & as I will be up there camping at Sulman Pk for 33rd year Bathurst this year will be the place to be - an emotional place it will be there for entire week. I will once I work it - post a link so you can look at the photos I & others took. If you need a quick fix please go to www.monaroccnsw.com.au & access thru to the forum & check out the photos at the bottom & yje club run activites - I hope!
