Hi again Ewan.

The next Johnson car will be the '83 Bathurst XE 'Pre crash' car. No date has been set for the release of this model at this stage.

Any plans for a "post crash" Johnson Bathurst 83 car?

No DJ, but CC did do a Bill Brown pre & post Ph.3 GTHO crash on Conrod in 1/43, complete with diorama. They only made a few hundred, though. A DJ Greens-not-so-tuff version was suggested by one reviewer.

Just smash one up yourself!!!! I heard one guy say he got a blow torch onto a CC car and made it a molten mess, you could probably work the panels into a smashed up wreck if you tried hard enough. Or drop it from a tall building!!

I'll check & confirm, probably tomorrow, as the mag. the article is in is out in my van on the nature strip & it's 11:25pm & 8degrees here, so I'm not goin' out there unless I have to, but from memory the diorama is a CC, & not badly done from the pics. The mag is the 2nd issue of Aust.Muscle Cars.

The Brown crashed car diorama was done by an exclusive australian model maker /enthusiast and in an issue of no more than 50 ,if that much . Classic could not be called exclusive nor entusiastic, it is a even lower/smaller form of coldwheels.
I do know of one person here in Perth who has this diorama and I was able to admire it.
I was the guy who put a 600amp TIG welder to work on this trash
and what a pile it ended up to be, it actualy improved in apperance in my book
Have a look at the Mustang it is muchus!!

ewan,
trying to get any DJR info is just like pulling teeth !!!
The 83 Bathurst Falcon is the next one and i've been told we should have it before christmas !!
As for whats' next is anyones guess.
There has been talk about the Red Roo XE and various sierra's but no one really knows.
I see that the 1:43 EB/EL road cars are due before christmas as well, which could indercate that the 1:18 versions could be getting ready for production soon. I can only hope.
Hope this helps
Cheers.

My prediction is Feb 2003, because it's seems that every 6 months
they release Dick's cars.

OK, I wuz wrong. The diorama was made by Qld-based FM Models & only 25 were made, cost:$490-00. I have the mag. in front of me now & for some reason CC were in my mind. Apologies, all.

6 months almost makes sense, as I have a feeling that the prototype Sierra pics were posted close to 4-6 months before it was released & the 83 XE has reasently had its' prototype pics posted !!!

If this is true i think its fantastic, as being 6 months apart, keeps me out of trouble for buying too many model cars !!!!!
