Also,
I hear that Biante will have 1:43 Barra & VY SS Utes around the end of the year. No news as to wheter they will make the AU & VX utes thought, as it I would have thought that classic would have exclusive rights to those utes.
cheers.

CC's will have 5 different colours on thier 1/43 VU utes.
Heron white,Redhot and Phantom Mica.the other 2 colours are unnamed.
Classics have just finished with tooling for the AU 1/43 utes.
Right after the VU and AU ute releases Classics will make the V8 Brutes and the Jamie Brock Brute strength VU SS has been confirmed as the first release.

...and by the way, I did hear that Biante were going to make the VU SS ute a fair while ago....in red hot duco from memory.......and in 1:18...

Some while ago, Classic said that they has exclusive rights to making ALL of the Brutes.
Now I don't mind the road cars, but I really don't know why people would want the entire field of a race series that is more about 'smash em ups' rather than fair dinkum racing.
This caterory is only in its' 2nd year & I think this could be a very, very big risk.
Is there really such a market for the entire Brutes models (personally, I can't see it) ?
cheers.

I have to disagree with Earnhardt-3, I recently bought the CC HQ Ute in Infra Red & with the exception of the exterior mirrors & a slightly innaccurate dash, it is very close in quality to Biante. The HQ is sitting right beside my Biante XU-1 Torana & it compares well. I know they've made lots of rubbish in the past (I have 2 examples of these) but be fair, they are lifting their game.

Have you seen this years V8's in 1:43?????
I've bought the models that Biante don't make (Seton, Ambrose, Besnard, etc..) from this series & i've got to say they are close (if not the same) to the quality of Biante.

This is the Biante forum & we're talking about the competition & up until this year I would have whole heartly agreed with you, but its time to credit where it is due.

Anyway, who will benifit from this competition ???

If this improvement forces everyone else to improve, aren't we the winners ???
food for thought,
cheers.

Biante is my first and perferred option, but as they can not make all the teams models ( due to various reasons ) I am glad that CC has lifted their game to be a lot closer to the standard we have come to expect from Biante.

Competition is good and as Brchi17 said earlier - we ( collectors ) will be the winners.

The original CC cars are not good but as a start to one's collection they cover a lot of livery's over the past few years.

The pictures that I have seen of the CC Utes do look pretty impresive. Just have to wait and see.

i have just bought a CC VU ute and it looks pretty nice. its not quite biante quality but its definately better than trax and old CC models. it is great to finally have a commodore ute and i may even buy the falcon one. i cant wait for biante to bring out their utes.

chups,

The model looks great but the ss 50 ute has a roll bar in the back. Did you remove it or didn't it have one. I'am interested because i have a ss 50 ute and would like a model of it.

I too have the Classic Carlectables SS 50th anniversary ute and it comes with the three interchangeable options of a colour coded hard cover, soft tarp and chrome roll bars with soft tarp which all look great. It even has the rubber tray mat as well! I think is a great idea for them to do this and hope Biante offers the same with their 1:18 scale utes.

:D

I've heard that all of the Utes (including the Fords when they finaly come) that CC are making will come with the roll bars, bed liner, hard top & soft tarp, so that you can choose which was you want the ute to look.
Not a bad idea really.
cheers.

The only 1/43 CC utes I'II get are the V8 Brutes models after all road going SS and XR8 utes are made.

Just got my hand on one of VU SS's myself, pretty good detail on it. Pity that CC didn't apply the same duress on the HQ's. What a waste.....

Just got the CC vu ss 50 ute myself. really good model. I was pleasantly surprised by the finish and accuracy of a CC model. How can these guys do such a good job on the vu and get the HQ totally wrong, which is a shame. I hope that someone will make a decent HQ ute model. And also when I was in the model shop buying it I noticed a poster on the wall about the up and coming CC models and the utes were to be done in 1:43 and 1:18 which should be good.

Great news
Biante to make the VY, Barra & Maloo Ute in the minicar format, as mentioned on the minicar post!
Now if these utes are comming in minicar form, I'm sure they will appear in the larger 1:43 scale & possibly the 1:18. Now i wonder if Biante will follow the CC route & build them with the roll bars or have them as they are stock std with just a bare (empty tub) ute body.
cheers.

There is a picture of the HRT crew sitting in it in the lastest club 1 issue.
Maybe the goldie could help you out there.

Personally, I'd love to see a model of the THUNDER ute that GRM made. I got to see it in anger at PI this year & it's simply awesome !!!
Sounds great too !!!!

The picture is of the crew sitting in the back of the ute with its TV moniters, but doesn't show much of the utes car body.
Maybe www.hsv.com.au will have some more pics of it.

SWRT is correct... you can't see anything except for the crews backs watching tv monitors...
