Could it not also be said the the Brock brothers were sharing the car when Peter distroyed his ride and jumped into his brothers car? Then going on to win...

You can't count Phil Brock in the 1983 Bathurst winning car as he didn't actually get his bum into the drivers seat on race day.

However it is easy to forget, as I did, that the Brock brothers came home in third place at Bathurst in 1976. They had the fastest Torana on the day and had a good chance of winning but for a fuel pick-up problem and a late-in-the-day rear axle drama.

Phil Brock raced at Bathurst in 1973, 1976, 1977, 1978, and 1981.

And that Phil was faster than Peter in the car that year.

They also had the fastest car in 1977 but had the problem with the rear tyres which stuffed their chance of winning.
Cheers,
Tony.

That would have been nice if they could have snagged one together, same goes for the Geoghegan bros.

Yes well we can blame LP for that not happening in 83

How can you blame LP.
If your basing your comments on Phil Brock's interview in AMC it seems someone forgot to tell Phil that the rules of that era were if you took over another car the original drivers were not permitted to continue in the car.

No not at all, as the car was in the top 5 when Peter took over and Phil wasnt that much slower they could have put Phil in the seat for his stint then handover to PB and LP.

No they couldn't; only one of Peter or Larry could have jumped in once John and Phil had done a stint, with a maximum of three drivers allowed in one car...

But you are correct, JH and Phil would have most likely won the race anyway...

I'm hoping this car is made, along with the Geoghan brothers XR and the Bond/Harvey 1976 car...these, together with the Texaco Sierra form my "Bathurst 1sts that weren't" collection;)

well running with that theme then Leigh, you'd also need Dick Johnson's 1992 Bathurst Sierra as well ;)

I'm undecided as to whether that one fits or not...will have to give it more thought!

Must admit, I'd never even considered it!
