I was going to put thid in the what cheeses you of thread, but I thought it deserves it's own thread. It ticks me off how quickly they change the price when the price of oil goes up. But when they change it down it takes them for ever. For me, coming from country victoria we pay through our noses. At the moment it's at 129.9 a litre for Premium. At one stage it was at 148.9.

No coincidence at all...More petrol is used on long weekends, but the storage tanks at servo's and refinaries don't increase in size, so petrol prices are put up to discourage unnecessary purchases so we don't run out of fuel...

...and before saying "yeh sure", we have run out in periods of high demand in the past due to "cheap" proces!

Get your hand off it Leigh :p This is the same crap the that toothless tiger, the ACCC, keeps telling us & it's utter garbage. The government don't want to know about it because they're also profiteering due to the increase excise tax they get off a higher pump price.

Heck even blind Freedy knows that they're profiteering by deliberately pushing up the prices on the weekend......only someone with a vested interest in having a higher price would say otherwise.

By the way Leigh, how are your Shell, Caltex, Mobil shares going :p ;)

the fact does remain that the oil companies lose money on petrol at many stages of the weekly/yearly cycle to keep competitive; the problem is that they are pretty poor in their price changes which affects how the consumer and greater public view them ;)

oil companys run the Trade Price Index and bananas apparently. The reserve bank seem to agree with that by not putting up interest rate this time.

Gotta love gullible people...

Amazing how many people believe anything in the paper! I guess station masters and train drivers are 100% responsible for ALL late trains and teachers are 100% responsible for kids failing!

Thanks for clearing that up!

Actually more than 80% of late running trains can be attributed to passengers ;)

Thank you for striking the scales from my eyes. I never claim to be as intelligent as public servants with their inside knowledge and superior intellect.
They screw you on long week-ends and holidays, all this garbage that is sprouted is just window dressing. Until it can be proven otherwise most will choose to go on believing it.

Almost correct, you forgot about incompetent public servants who frequent high rise buildings within the CBD ;)
