Thought it would be good to have a seperate thread for all new livieries to be posted.
Am not sure if one has already been started, but there was one last year and i think the year before,

So post your pics if you ahve any of any of the new liveries and once all teams are in be good to have a poll to see which is the best for 2007

.....as for the Jim Beam thing with DJR, Steve Chalker did strongly denied that a fortnight ago saying those rumors had caused another deal to fall over, but granter the font thing on the DJR website does suggest they've got over their differences......come February 6th, we'll all know ;)

Apart from the red on red, Ingalls isn't too bad.....Its a ton better than the bland 2005 car.

I thought the Jeld Wen car was one of the best liveries last year sucks that they have changed it so much.

I heard a while ago that GRM are going to have a black and silver livery this year(seriously,no joke!)
Would be a radical departure from recent years.

Over Christmas Garry Rogers definately confirmed a major change in the GRM livery...Tony's comment rings a bell...

Maybe the Holden teams have been delayed because they have had to build entire cars and then paint them, whereas the Ford teams really only had to repray a car with new front and rear bars/side-skirts etc...

Sort of like a few years ago when the Ford teams upgraded to the BA from the AU...that year they were the ones delayed and we were innundated with Holden liveries...

Well designer dont worry too much. There are people out there that liked the 04 livery. I for one really liked it! My second favourite only to the 99 and I thought the shadow chrome rims looked awesome.

Haha fair enough! I tend to always be in the minority when it comes to livery preference. The 07 renault being a good example!

Bit of history....

The Designer that did the 2004 and 2005 cars is now working in the States, and his "style" was a little bit more hap-hazard to what I like in general....
I returned to doing liveries last year...doing the 2006, which was basically and clean up and refinement of 2005...

I too, wasn't a huge fan of the 04 car, and I can assure you the new '07 has absolutely nothing in common with it, apart from the fact there's black in the graphic...The livery itself is also more flowing on the 07 car, similar to the 2003 car...

There's also the VE factor as well.....makes a great looking racecar

The only thing I hope is that it is not too similar to any other team. A couple of years ago really was a pain to work out who was who from a distance. Other than that I would like to see Toddles do ok.

I personally loved last years HRT range, best in the series (DJRs could have been better, but that was their mistake...thats another story though)....The 2007 HRT Team Shirts are great looking but just didn't have enough cash

my only problem and this is Q/C, as they are in bags I didn't notice until I got home, the HSV logo patch ( yes they are patches again, I know some of you guys didn't like them last year) is too low and is covering some of the NGK logo which looks alittle dodgy....but allround a great shirt.

The logo design is a typical story....Holden Motorsport asked us to change the logo again, after being really happy with the 2006 update. We told them we were happy with what we had, but they insisted we change it with the VE and all...

It was open to everyone in Design, and about 4 guys had a go...we took the best bits from a few and combined them....then refined it to what you see on the shirt...

It looks great and we're really happy with it...and we're adament that we want to run it for a few years....

That logo is the basis of the new livery by the way...and it's nice how the shirt is black, with a really, really high contrasting bright, bright red...looks cool...nice colors;)

I'd heard that some teams are thinking of running them in the longer racers where the car has to take on fuel as they are slower to change than the old 5 spokes, but create better cooling/heat extraction for the brakes.....

I reckon that Ingall's Falcons have been the best looking cars over the past four years. Texaco/Caltex have always done a real nice job on the Havoline NASCAR liveries over the years. Looked great on the Newman/Haas Lola's of the 90's too.

This weeks Auto Action has picks of DJR's car - bit strange as it seems to have the big front splitter still as compared to the 888 car with the shorter front splitter ... They seem to have part of the new bodykit on as the "cutouts" in the sills behind the front wheel are there ... maybe they haven;t got their new front splitters yet ?? ..

This weeks AA also has Courtney and Ingall holding up a pic of their new cars liveries :confused: ... seems a bit of a poor way of announcing a new livery and from what I've seen of the pic which I think VX posted somewhere else they look a bit ho hum - definitely nothing to get excited about.

to answer your question, what happens is one of the Biante crew have to first be on the forum & view it before they approve it & I'd suggest that some times it take longer than others because they are off doing other things as I am fairly certain they don't have someone watching the forum 24/7, but granted they usually get approved at worst with a couple of hours. ;)

That isn't the correct livery..it's someone's {Kev Wilson ??} interpretation of the car...the guy who did this has probably got as glimpse of the proper illustrations..or based it on the camera phone shot ..............it's close, but not really close.
The very basic layout is kinda right, but the rest is miles off.

I love the way he puts a copyright logo on this. WTF for !!!..he's ripping of us anyway...LOL....:)

I'll post the Design illustrations here after the car is launched, if people are still interested....

Understand totally.....We're hoping it looks great on TV. The color on the VE Test Car was very similar to the final car, and I've seen tests of that on film and print....it still works when photographed and filmed.

The color will settle on TV more than it does when you see it outside .....it's so in your face up close, it's frightening..but it's cool none the less.

There is a lot of black as well this year, which really helps punch out the new red....It's not a science, we're just chacing more drama and impact...in the end, you guys are the judge.
....and ignore the camera phone shot.....wait till you see the racecar.

I think you will find the red car in the background is a VE road car awaiting the HSV transformation. All the cars leave the Holden factory with black unpainted bars and steel wheels etc as it is a legal requirement that the car be "complete" and "roadworthy" when it leaves the Holden production line. HSV then remove all the standard gear and put all the hot goodies onto them.
There is quite a bit more of the HSV gear fitted on the Holden production line than there used to be a few years ago but the real transformation is at Clayton.

So to go a bit further on this, why would they settle for a car that looks sensation on the track, but only ok in the print medium ???

Also asking out of curiosity....did anyone do some tv tests on the final colour to see what it looked like on the medium in which the greatest # see it ???

Looks good on both...even more impact in the flesh...but it wont please everyone....

Not tests as such but I've seen it on TV....just turn the brightness and contrast button down:D

The HRT colour issue sounds like the same one Ferrari has...They paint their cars a brighter/oranger red than true Ferrari red so that it appears Ferrari Red on TV and in the print media;)

yeah, Marlboro is red, and it is more orange for TV screens, but since Marlboro owns every single inch of advertising space on the Ferraris' it is more Marlboro red then Rosso Corsa

I suspect it could even be as late as Clipsal itself.....

Paul Dumbrell will run the teams only VE at the event while Cam Mc will run the VZ he crashed there last year for that event & possibly a couple of other rounds until their 2nd VE is ready to race.....
