Looking at the pic of the soon to be released Skaife/Richards Bathust winning Skyline , does anyone know if we will be able to purchase the sponsors decals for this car when released?

It's just that it looks a little "plain" in the picture.....But that wont stop me from buying one anyhow. Cant wait.

Keep up the great work Biante.

I think you'll find that the prototype 1991 Bathurst Nissan is completely accurate; I looked for it in the New Model Showroom but ended up finding it with a "Nissan" search ....the last model on the list, 'production planned'.

Nissan had no major commercial sponsor in 1991, so the GT-R wore a few corporate logos and minor support items. There was no cigarette sponsor for the Nissan team; you'll perhaps remember that Glenn Seton took PJ with him when he set up his own Sierra team. Winfield appeared in 1992 and continued with the Gibson team into V8 Supercars with the VP/VR Commodores.

I might add that the 1991 colour scheme was slightly different in the earlier ATCC races; as I recall, the wheel rims were painted black and the Nissan logos were positioned elsewhere on the flanks and were white coloured. Can somebody confirm this ?

The car raced as shown..there were very few sponsors on this car. All sponsors logos will be on the model so there are none to add.

graeme, you are correct in the livery differences, just looked through my Auto Actions covering the early part of the 1991 ATCC, seems the Godzilla's had Nissan in white on the lower part of the doors, well picked up...

On the issue of the '91 Godzilla, as well as having it as part of the Bathurst Winners Collection, I too would like it as Jim Richards' Championship winning car.
But back to the Bathurst car - it will be nice having it finally in complete form without having great blank spaces where the offending tobacco sponsorship should have been (on the '92 car). Shame the '91 car is almost certainly going to be from the Kyosho mould though. But beggars can't be choosers! Rather that than no car at all.

The '91 GTR is listed as a Biante Premium. Maybe it wont be a Kyosho ?

I tried looking on the site to see whether the '92 Bathurst winning GT-R was also listed as Biante Premium (I should know/remember, I have three of them!). But I couldn't find any reference to it on the site at all. I can't see how this release won't be a Kyosho/Biante collaboration, as I am not aware of any other manufacturer who has produced a 1:18 R32 GT-R (although I've asked...) I got a reply from Bev earlier this week through email that killed off any Biante-only production of an R32 GT-R (much to my chagrin).
I asked for a 1:18 road car of the R32 GT-R, as came to Australia in the batch of 100 in 1991 (for Biante's productions are the best as we all know), and the response was:

"The Skyline will not be an Australian owned mould as this car comes from Japan and will be included by world brands in their stable."
(I hope I haven't taken this quote out of context in any way)

To me, that suggests that the Kyosho mould will be the one used for the '91 winner (as well as the former 1992 winner). :(

It will be a little bit of a shame if it is still using the Kyosho mould because on the shelf with all of the other wonderful models we have been lucky to get lately, it does tend to look a little less spectacular.

But, it will still be nice to have another Bathurst winner on the shelf.
