Whats the story with Biante Brochures that come with the cars?

I notice lots on the auction sites nowdays for crazy money. Weren't these supposed to come with the models?

Which ones had them and which ones didn't?

An (Honest) retailer that I speak to from time to time was telling me that when the cars (thats the one's with the brochures) are shipped to the retail stores the brochures are packed seperately in an envelope, that is if the retailer orders 10 model X's he gets 10 brochures in a seperate envelope and its up to him to provide these with the sales of the model. Keep in mind those dealers who don't give you a brochure if the model was suppose to have one, need I say more.

SO where are all the Dick Johnson XE Falcon brochures??
I specifically asked for mine when I ordered it.
Mind you, it wasn't from Biante, but an outside supplier as
I missed the original release...

My retailer reckons he got ten times more brochures than models. But, he got no brochures for some cars.

Thats half the fun of collecting isnt it? Trying to find all the missing links to get the complete set?

Not when you have to pay $10 - $50 for something that is "supposed" to come with the model!

Who pays $10-$50??? Thats rediculous!!

I was told the brochures are for promotional material. They aren't supposed to come with the model, they are an add for it. Either way though, if you buy the model, you should get one if you ask, and the retailer has them.

Which ones are you missing?? Maybe i can help out?

Almost all classic road and race cars have brochures accept for the Brock collection number 2 (in the display case) and the Johnson cars. The Johnson collection has one brochure that covers the whole collection, not one for each car.

No current race cars have had brochures produced.

Post a list of the cars you don't have brochures for and I will let you know if there were any produced for those cars.

Thanks.

Richard from Biante.

Perry. I agree, that is why I don't have a lot of them. I am a latecomer to the Biante models as I was on the wrong side of the ocean when they started producing them and didn't discover them till I came home last year for a holiday. So I have been playing catch-up since and it is hard with some of the earlier XY's but I am getting there slowly.

Yes, I also have these models, but no brochures:
DJR XE Greenstuf
DJR XC Tru Blu
DJR XD Tru Blu (On order! Gateway Models Qld)
GMS Lowndes / Crompton 2001 Qld 500 1/18th
GMS Lowndes 2001 1/43rd
GMS Lowndes Bathurst 2001 1/18th (on order! Gateway Models Qld)
GMS Lowndes Bathurst 2001 1/43rd (on order! Gibson Shop)

I realise that some of these had no brochures, but I can only hope that some will be made to increase the collectibility of our models!!!

I know that my pre-ordered models aren't from Biante, that just shows how quick you have to be to pre-order!

Hi Zorak,
Where did you buy the models from? After about the 3rd Moffat car, we started charging the shops extra for the cars and including the brochures for free...1 car equals 1 brochure. That is why now we have no spares.
We got sick of the hundreds of requests for brochures by email and letter. Bad enough that we take the trouble to print and design them, but then to have to send them out one at a time when they were available free to the stores, was a bit much.
So from now on, except for V8supercars and current models, ask your store because they DO get one per car.

If I could be a pain in the butt for a moment, why are the v8supercars without brochures? Not nitpicking or anything, just wondering if this has anything to do with being a racecar ...

Zorak,
I'm the guy that sold the Brochure for $260 (lpjb77).... I wish I was on my way to the bank, but that guy said he was drunk and never paid up! You would have to be drunk to pay that kind of money. The only reason I sell the brochures is to help me buy the models that keep coming out, I'm not made of money.
Regards
Lachlan.

Richard,

Unfortunately I was living overseas when your company came onto the market selling these great diecasts. I came home for a trip and found that they even had a model shop in my home town - my how things had changed.

In the shop he had a Johnson XC (Lakeside) for $190, a Brock #28 for $250, a Moffat 65E for $350 and a Gardner Commodore (just released) for $180.

That was my first introduction to these cars and I get the Gardner and Johnson car - paid too much back then but I didn't know any better. I got no brochure with either car.

Later that same trip I got a blue XW Phase II from another shop I found and no brochure.

I got several models (XB GT, Cobra (road), Moffat Cobra, Brut 33) both in auction and directly from one of your distributors in Melbourne whom I will never deal with again. No brochures.

I thought I got the HSV R8 from Biante directly but I may not have. Again no brochures.

The rest were all purchased from auction sites most coming with no brochures.

Now I know the situation, I will always make sure that I get brochures when I buy new ones. I guess it is buyer beware.

Lachlan,

Sorry to hear of your misfortune, that would have almost got you 2 more cars.

I am not opposed to people selling to support their habit as long as they are doing the right thing.

When a model is sold new you should get everything that was supposed to go with it - model, box, packaging, certificate and brochure. I am not saying you don't do this, just feeling like I have been ripped off.
