I was just rearranging my display cabinet and came across an interesting question. If Dunlop supply a Control Tyre to all supercar teams and this tyre is exactly the same for all teams why do the two DJR cars have "DUNLOP" logos printed on there tyres (on the Models anyway) whilst none of the other teams do ????
Is it just the tyres the car had on when Biante measured up or do DJR in fact get a different type of control tyre ???
What are your thoughts?

Every Supercar races on the same Dunlop contol tyres, but DJR, Perkins, and 00 teams are also sponsored by Dunlop.
That's why you see the Dunlop logo on these cars' bodywork and as a sprayon stencil on the tyre sidewalls.
HRT and Brock are sponsored by Bridgestone but still have to race on Dunlop tyres; naturally, these teams don't want to advertise the fact on their cars.
Other tyre company logos appear on other cars, notably Goodyear on the KMart cars and Firestone on the Team Kiwi Commodore.

Larry Perkins also had Dunlop sponsorship on his cars when Bridgestone had the tender for the control tyres...

I don't think this is quite correct.
When Bridgstone started the 1st control tyre 3 yrs ago, it was part of the deal that only Bridgstone signage would be on the cars (if you have any of the 1:18 CC DJR cars - pre 2002, you will see that they had Bridgstone writtern on them).
This was why DJR & Perkins did not have Dunlop on their race cars during these 3yrs (check the models, pics, etc..). However, the signage rule only applied to the race cars, which is why their trucks, clothing, racesuits, work shops, etc ....(all bar the car) carried Dunlop on them.
Under the current arrangement (Dunlop control tyre) there is no such ruling, which is why HRT, Brock, etc still carry Bridgstone & Goodyear on the K-Mart cars, etc......
Hope this clears things up,
cheers.
