Can anyone tell me where i could find what the colour TANGO looks like. Biante is releasing an XB GT in 1:18 scale with this colour and black stripes.
I have looked around but still i am clueless as to what this Falcon will look like.Any help would be great .

I would guess Orange. I thought the official colour was called Burnt Orange.

Tango and Burnt Orange were two different colours used in the XB range. Tango is a bright rich orange while Burnt Orange is softer, similar to the orange strips used on the top and bottom of this forum page.

Richard, will the Tango XB GT have the correct XB GT driving lights? The ones on the Blue/Silver GT, Brut 33 and 77 ATCC car are not correct as per the XB GT.

I will still buy it but I was just wondering...

Its not the driving lights that are the problem on the 1/18 XB, its the shape of the front end. The nose is too flat/upright, giving the model a blunt profile similar to the XC, whereas the front of the real XB has a beautiful, slightly pointed appearance. Specifically, the problems with the model are:

1. The skirting panel under the front bumper is far too shallow and is cut back horizontally just below the indicator lights. On the real XBs this panel is much deeper and curves down rearwards. However, on the models of Moffat XBs the incorrect skirt is disguised somewhat by the front spoiler.

2. The grille and the ends of the guards need to be angled back more (projecting forwards at the top).

3. The headlights are not set deep enough into the grille.

These errors amount to the whole front end looking wrong - a rare and unusual thing for Biante, and a little disappointing. Despite this, my Moffat Brut33 car is still a very nice looking model. I also intend to get the Tango XB.

Biante must fix these problems, but i don't think they will as this has been raised several times before and I can't recall seeing a response from Biante saying they will or will not fix these problems.

My guess is that it costs too much to fix, which is unfortunate.

Thats why I won't buy too many XB's. I have the Brut33 and I'll get one more but that will be it - unless these errors are fixed.

The XA,XB,XC's are my favourite Falcons and I find it frustrating that the XB front-end mistakes ever happened in the first place, I can't recall such an error (besides minor ones) such as this on any other Biante model.

Yeah ive always thought the XB front end on Biante models was a bit crook .. how did it end up so wrong? the rest of the car is right on the money as with most other models theyve done, but the XB front end is way off base, im sure there must be some reason for this. That said i still purchased the ATCC XB, but probably wouldnt buy another unless the front end was fixed.

The XA's looking pretty good...

ok! i thiiink i can answer the question: what color is tango? if you to to the biante webpage, go to "new model showroom", and then to "biante prototypes" and if you scroll down a bit. there a picture of a monaro with an yellowy looking XB in the background... and if you scroll down further, you will find a picture of the yellowy looking xb... which i imagine will be the "tango" xb. interesting to note there is also a green one in the background..... i hope i have finally had a useful contribution!!!

The XA is in the prototype stage and will (hopefully) be released in the near future....I think they look awesome myself and I'm eager to see the Moffat XA.

Yogi,
You've hit the nail right on the Head. Your definately smarter than the average bear. As an owner of an XB I find it quite frustrating to see these faults in the models. XB and XC bonnets are exactly the same. Ford Aust never changed the mould....but hopefully Biante will.

The XB front saga has been mentioned in the past when the Brut 33 car was released, however Biante, as far as I know, have never commented about these errors on this forum.

However I do recall I emailed Biante about this a long time ago and they said they won't fix it as it costs too much to rectify.

Its a shame that it appears the next XB's will have the same mistakes.

I hate to say it but, maybe Classics will make an XB that will be right - one day.
