but you have to sign up. it is free though
if people dont want to know whats happening then they wouldnt of gone in this thread.
the monaro cut a tyre on lap 19, put them in 6th
after pit stops, back in first possy
FUEL PICK UP PROBLEMS saw the whole fuel tank and fuel system replaced. puts the monaro in 14th possy and 13 laps down.
Brabham and Darren Palmer still lead the race by four laps over the Mosler sportscar, with the Monaro around 10 laps back. but in 4th possy.

4th position, were doing good. and with about 16hrs to go.
foxtel should of had full 24 hr coverage.

Bathurst 24-Hour Race Report

Hour 18 (10:00am AEST)

It's been a while since our last update and the news is fairly good, the Holden Motorsport Monaro traveling very nicely with Steven Richards at the wheel - the Monaro having completed nearly 410 laps!

Cameron McConville and Garth Tander have both completed double stints, with Tander recording a new lap record of 2m14.3267s on lap 359.

Both Cameron and Garth say the Monaro feels just as good as it did when it ran for the first time on Friday, with the quick lap times seemingly able to be run lap after lap.

The Cirtek Porsche still leads the race, but with around five-and-a-half hours to go, the lead is now down to just under five laps, this race obviously just beginning...

Talk is that we've just started the Bathurst 1000 (we're already completed more than two!) and with the renowned Mount Panorama records of Tander, Richards, McConville, Pretty and the Garry Rogers Motorsport team, we're going to put up a strong fight right to the end of the 24-hours.

Every one of the other Holden Team of Champion V8 Supercar drivers have been calling, emailing or text messaging the team at the track offering their support and encouragement, which is fantastic.

Perhaps most importantly, you the fans have been calling and emailing and we really appreciate your support. Stick with us, we'll do you proud.

Bathurst 24-Hour Race Report

Hour 19 (11:00) AEST

Just under five hours to go and the Monaro is still second, a little over four laps behind the $500,000+ Porsche Supercar of Cirtek Racing (this is their fifth 24-Hour race this year!).

Richo is now out of the car with Nathan having slotted back into the seat to try chase Brabham down.

It's getting exciting - go the Holden 'Nuclear Banana' Nations Cup Monaro!!

"a little over four laps behind the $500,000+ Porsche Supercar of Cirtek Racing (this is their fifth 24-Hour race this year!)."
This comment really got to me.... so what that it is a $500k supercar... Holden know what the competition would be before they built the "427"... Are they making excuses.. I think the "427" is going great.

Thanks for the update guys... it is impossible to get to www.bathurst24hr.com to get results... By the way the monaro looks great and would like pretty good next to the Borck/Brock Targa Monaro *wink wink* - as soon as I saw this car on the track I said to the wife - hmmm I wonder if BIANTE will make this one and she said well I'm sure if they do you will get it !!! hehehehe :D

From the holdenmotorsport site

"Hour 20

The Monaro has come from 11 laps down during the night to hit the lead four hours from home at the inaugural Bathurst 24-Hour race!

In the most dramatic turn of events, the lead Cirtek Racing Porsche headed into pit lane for an unscheduled visit with an apparent problem, with Pretty - some four laps down still in the Monaro - following Brabham with the engine belts again missing!

The GRM crew jumped to work, changing the belts while also checking the rear end as a precaution - the inspection revealing a stripped bolt requiring attention.

Cirtek's problems were worse, a bad clutch and broken driveshaft requiring attention, Cameron McConville heading back out and completing five laps before the Porsche head back out onto the track.

We've still got four hours to go, but this race has just become super-dramatic. All of a sudden the Monaro is back where we hoped, but with around 80-100 laps remaining in the race, anything can happen.

Thanks for your support and keep it coming as the Monaro tackles the world in the Bathurst 24-Hour race. It's going to be a great, great race and we're trying to do our best for you!"
