Is there anyone here that buys the majority of their models from Gamesworld stores in Carousel, Mandurah or Garden City??

I am a member of their "model car collectors club", and i'd like to get in contact with others that were promised cheaper models like i was.

Email address below.

G'day Perry,
what's this club that you are talking about ?
Is it something that this particular store has set up ? or is it something to do with the games world franchises ?
I'd be interested to know about it.
cheers.

Its just something these particular stores have set up. From what im finding out, its probably best to NOT be a member....

ok heres the run down, they started up a games world car club (GWCC) where they published a regular (sort of) newsletter with whats new and whats comming and stuff, and they said they were going to offer discounts to members and bigger discounts to the top 100 members (biggest spenders) but the big boss had a crack down on it and canned the whole thing. also they are really strict on the 2 month laybys now too. and no discounts what so ever. i think the GWCC was only at carousel. and i think booragoon, rockingham and mandurah may of had it too(they are run by the same manager)

hope this helps.

Hey Guys
Seems like games world is no different in WA
as to Vic. I have gone to purchase models from them at different
times and they seem to make the rules as they go along.
Yes you can layby 3mths, yes you can laybe 2mths, yes you can layby 1week, sorry no layby of models at that value.
I try not to purchase from them only if no other option.

:D

Models one day broke the next.

Well I have been a client of TRIKING modelshop in Wesley Archade for a while and no other shop comes anywhere near the mark
why bother with the rest other than maybe STANBRIDGES in Mt. Lawley.
TRIKING is the place !:D

I have purchased alot of my models from Gamesworld in the Southland Shopping Centre which is in Chadstone, Vic.

They have a Laybuy of 3 months as standard no matter what you buy. The girls there are pretty good and are always willing to help.

Triking models........are they part of Biante or have a strong association with them?????

Im only asking because ive heard some rumblings about them....

Southland is in Cheltenham. Stores at both Westfield Southland and Chadstone Shopping centre.

I have had bad service from Games World stores, from around Victoria, like;
*Ordering a model, getting a call a week after it came in, or no call at all.
*Handle the biante's like they are worth $10 bucks.
Haven't bought there since.

Yes, you are correct.

Southland is on the intersections of Nepean Hwy and Bay St, Cheltenham......

I always get Chadstone and Cheltenham mixed up.

loste_treasures,

Seeing you shop at Southland Games World, I thought I would let you know of a good little shop, just down the road from the shopping centre, in Cheltenham.

Games world carousel is good, they try to help when they can. and they are convenient. if there is a model that is going to sell quickly (like the brock VR) then theres no beating triking. i call them up and its only 30 mins from the G/F house. and stanbridges are good for other stuff like bits for my dioramas (see 1:43 diorama thread) and perth hobby centre are good for 'sold out' cars. they usually have some left.

as for thr triking/biante link, from what i gather, the owners of triking started up and run/own biante. its great if you want direct info when admin dont answer your questions (not enough time), just go into triking and they try to help

Yeah i must say Triking arent too bad, ive purchased a few models from there and they actually are interested in what they are selling and love to have a good chat to you about it, last time i was in there i nearly had to chew my own arm off to get out cause the fella there didnt have an off switch :) but his enthusiasm and knowledge was well appreciated .

as for gamesworld.. pfft, u ask a question and u usually get a "DUH??" they seem to know very little, and they never call after offering to take your name and number for an upcoming model. for me its Triking or Stanbridges

As an alternative in Perth, there's a new store opened in Beldon called Games'n'Hobby which is owned by a fella that used to be a Gamesworld franchise owner. His Gamesworld store in Morley is also now renamed.

He gets my custom coz he takes care of me for orders and price.

Im just curious.......

Does anyone know if Triking is associated with Biante in any way. I've actually heard that they are a part of Biante but i want to confirm what ive heard.

Im not worried if they are or arent. Its just good to know who im really dealing with when i also speak to them.

Never liked the 'service' or 'prices' at gamesworld Carousel or Perth Hobby Centre.

I buy 95% of my models at Stanbridges. The remainder I buy privately.

I must get to Triking and City Models someday............;)

I didn't know about the Beldon shop, so I'll check it out.
Triking is absolutely the best and the people that work there are true model enthusiats. These great people send an awfull lot of models all over the world every week and it is worth wile to put yourself on their mailing list.

I get my models from 1 store whenever I can. They're helpful, honest, in the know and provide a great service. It seems they live and breath diecast. You can find them at http://biante.com.au.

Dear WOMBAT; Where in Beldon is this shop ? I have checked both centres out and I cannot find it. Is it in the old Video/clothing shop? or is this a wild call just to get me away from the keyboard?:D

Hi Bert

Its in the Belridge Shopping center between McDonalds and Coles, opposite the Medical Center. It's also a DVD hire shop and does framing (handy for doing those model / photo combo's). The guys name is Andrew and he also has "Games and Hobbies" in Galleria (it used to be a Games World till he moved on). He is also closely aligned with Peter over at Games World Belmont. They are NOT tied up with Gains World (sorry is that a typo, not) in Carousel.

I get some of my Models through these guys along and they have a good knowledge of the Aussie Model market and will go out of the way to help out. They also have a good network for getting those rare ones.

Go in before 2:30 as Andrew may not be there after that.:)

I have used Gamesworld at Highpoint in Melb and thier service & reliability has always been great. Although the price on earlier consignment models is a bit on the high side.

Thanks Moffat Fan for setting Bert straight on Andy's shop in Beldon. I haven't had the chance to look at the posts for a couple of days.

Hey Bert, I reckon it would take a wilder call than this to get you away from the keyboard. Anyway, goose chases aren't my thing.

Hope you get good service from Andrew (and Cathy).

Just come back from this shop , and they are very nice and helpfull people indeed. the young gentleman and his father are F1 Ferrari collectors!
I have ordered the sensational photo of Michael in free training at the Aus GP this year in the wet, and a great picture of Mark Webber in the Minardi. The photo's that these good people have is amazing including Supercar , There is one of Graig Lownes on a silvertype photopaper, the silvertone of the car just out of this world!, that is sensational while curphopping on two wheels, and at framed prices that are VERY good.
Highly recommended indeed.

First of all, I will get the pictures framed saturday.
Secondly ,I have never been able to post a picture on the net.
I hope that Moffat Fan or Wombat are better at it than stupid me, sorry.
I would say that the Lownes picture would blow a Lownes fan away in real life viewing, that is my oppinion anyway.

I bought most of my cars from Gamesworld at rockingham until the 1:18 2003 hrt skaife car which I was originally told that they would have them in about 2 weeks.. then when I went back in two weeks to get mine was told that they arent sure if they are getting them, then the next day was told that they should be in the shop in around 3 or 4 days then finally a week later was told that they arent getting them at all..

after all this and trailing around most of the stores in rockingham that stock the cars to finally find one I dont go to any gamesworld store now for cars I really want and am waiting for to come in..

Picked up my two framed items and must admit that the workmanship and foto's are First class.
had another look at the many different foto's that they have available from this photografher and the quality is outstanding plus the pictures are just awsome.
They have a lot of supercar shots, more than F1
Thanks to the forummembers that have allerted me to this place, and that is what this forum is realy all about

Think I'll have to check out the store in Beldon as it's only just down the road. Do they also stock the American Ertl stuff?

I buy nearly all my stuff from Perth Hobby Centre as they seem to have the biggest range, bring in the rarer cars and offer cheaper prices than the other 2 city stores.

I've recently started ordering some of the rarer cars directly from the US too. My Sox & Martin Barracuda took only 10 days to arrive, so hopefully the Hurst Hemi Under Glass I just ordered should arrive before Xmas...
