Just wondering if:
Holden guys buy Ford models, or just Holdens
Ford guys buy Holden models, or just Fords.

although im primarily a holden man through and through i am finding myself buying more and more fords as well.

i take the attitude 'if it looks good, then buy it'.

oh, by the way what are you gonna do if 'ferrari fan' wants to vote???

Good question.
Was mainly to do with Biante models, Holdens and Fords.
As in the chat I have always asked the new guys what they collect, and I have noticed it seems that Ford guys seem to mainly only buy fords. Were as Holden guys, some seem to buy fords aswell.
Just thought I'd to a poll to see if my theory is correct.

i tend to agree with your theory. with a bit of sarcasm (spell check !!) here would this also mean holden fans are abit more broadminded???

only time will tell

I am a 100% Holden man, but after seeing how well made the Ford Models are I collect them too.

I was born with blue blood into a blue blooded family & then Ford released the AU. Now I'm the only one who still owns a Ford & that may not be for much longer.
All of my models are either Fords or Subarus, that was until the CV8 Monaro was released. Now I have two Monaros inamoungst the many Falcons & WRX's.
cheers.

I was a Holden follower until '78 and then GMH produced an import and named it the Commodore. This made my heart fall and switched camps to the Blue Oval. I collect all pre '78 Holdens and all Fords and Chryslers. Commodore may be good on the Road and Track, but nothing beats the Kingswood, just ask Ted Bullpit.

I love my Holdens but of course being a collector of "GOOD LOOKING" models I have the odd Ford amongst the Holdens. The only new Ford (AU) is the Lowndes/Crompton Bathurst car. I collect Bathurst winners so of course you need to add a few Fords to that collection as well...I just bit the bullet and bought the 81 XD.
I can't wait for BIANTE to bring more Holdens out to sit along some of the older Fords.

I'm actually a Ford fan that also collects Holdens.

My collection is primarily the earlier cars (I have two AU Falcons but only one commodore, the 90 Grice/Percy). I'm not really that keen on the current models, more just brought the DJ Last Drive AU and then the Green Eyed Monster as it was so well made. Other than that, I am sticking to the 70's and 80's.

I have been a Ford fan since I was a young fella, but have actually owned more old holdens then fords (EK, HQx2, Torana..as opposed to two falcons). As far as the old Fords and Holdens go, I like them both, but can't wait for the Chargers.

Hey 7Litre...I keep seeing old Opel Rekords around Bangkok and thinking they are a Commodore from behind, then I see the front of them....at least Holden made them better looking (these things are really quite ugly).

Holdens only for me. I got hooked on this hobby after buying a 1:1 Commodore SS and haven't looked back. I have a workmate here who is passionate about Fords so that keeps the rivalry going. I never thought I'd ever buy a Ford model but have always admired the Green Eyed Monster and after meeting Craig Lowndes at Indy and finding out what a nice guy he is (even though I was dressed in HRT attire) I bought the minicar version of his car along with the Brock ones.

Very much have blue blood in the veins. It does not mean I only buy Ford models, I love the A9X Hatch, I will buy a HT Monaro, I love the Chargers and am hanging for the 1/18 scale to come out.

As of most people in here I can look at other brands of cars and enjoy them for what they are, a beautiful piece of machinary.

Smarty, you must be a panelbeater by trade - with mix and match panels.:)

Being a Blueblood, I am loath to buy the Holdens - too many years despising them, maybe. But the quality of the AU's led me to but a VT a couple of years ago and I have perhaps a greater appreciation for the General than in prior years.

However, all is not lost in my home. My eldest son somehow escaped the True-Blue-blooding and loves the Commodes (pun intended). Only this morning I took him in to Stanbridges to buy the 2000 Bathurst winner (some blokes called Bag-something and Tinder I think. ;)

They had it on special for $75, so value for money I guess.

They had a couple of Fords that I really want though.............

There is absolutely no way I could just stick to buying Holden or Ford models only. As a Holden man, I don't care what badge is on my models, as long as it looks good. That rule does not apply to my 1:1 car, of course it must wear the LION!!!

Fair go ,WOMBAT, Garth Tander WON Bathurst ,and is a WA chappy, and a nice one to boot!
Besides he did put it right up HRT, who had the incorruptable officials pin him back (Clispal 500 to mention just one glaring one)
He did come second in the overall standings and that ,you ,can only admirre.;)

I own a Honda, Nissan and Mazda, so my loyalties lie elsewhere. However, being in the U.S., I like nothing better than to have a cabinet full of cars where every visitor says "What the heck is THAT?" Ford. Holden. I don't care as long as the steering wheel is on the right and the car shows OZ's take on the automotive world.

I'd have to say that my favourite OZ cars the the XA-XC Falcon coupes. Gorgeous! Someday I'll replace one of my current cars with a Falcon coupe.

I m a bit of a fence sitter...buy what I like when I see it.

I seem to have a thing about the colour yellow on models??

If there is a choice of colours I generally go for yellow. Don't know why:confused:

I'm a fence sitter too, as long as a Kiwi's driving I'm happy - and winning - makes it even better.

Have Radisich in DJR, Baird in Brock (new this weekend!), and Murph of course. Just waiting for the 2002 Team Kiwi.

Cheers

My weekend car is an XYGT but my daily driver is a VN Commodore. I used to be a one eyed ford man for a very long time but now I just like what I like. I dont care what badge is on it. I collect all 60's and 70's muscle cars, GT's, Monaro's,Chryslers, I love them all.

I know what your saying cleveland.

All my life I've been 'blue eyed' but I hated the AU Falcon & Im not really sold on the BA.

So when I test drove a VY SV8 Commodore, I fell in love with it & ordered one.

Maybe one day I will like the current Falcon again & I'll buy one. However there is one thing that won't change & thats' my barrarking at the track.

#1 DJR
#2 Ford
Holden - never !!!!!

cheers.:D

HI
I am a ford fan and i only buy ford to keep. I have purchased holdens but only to sell for profit to fund my ford collection.
Looking at the poll reselts it seems to me that the red brigade is more liberal with their purchasing, OR MAYBE THEY HAVE SEEN THE LIGHT:D

I'm a definite fence sitter on the Holden/Ford debate. I've owned different species of both in the past, would love a 66 Shelby GT Mustang just for weekend cruising. As for a regular driver, when my daughter has grown out of pony club my Landcruiser will go and I'll get my ass back in a SKYLINE.
Current Fords are ugly, and I'm afraid to work on the Generals product because bits either break or fall off!!

Holdens only for sure. Think I was influenced by my dad telling me 'if you ever come home with a Ford you are no longer a part of this family" when I was eight! Do buy F-1 models with cosworths though, does that count?????
