I can't wait for this car..... It will be a worthy successor to the R34, and will elevate the GT-R up with Europe and America's finest (Porsche 911, Corvette etc.)
awawaw

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder......
The car is obviously still camouflaging the headlight and tailight section before the final release later this year, but the lines are sharp.

Was he talking about the car? lol It's always each to there own & as we know that this side of the pond it's not well liked as some people only look skin deep & not what's on the inside ;)

I was just re-reading the Wheels article from April 2002 when the R34 GT-R V-spec II N1 was put against the HSV GTS Coupe. The Skyline ran a 4.4 second 0-100km/h pass, and 12.7 0-400m pass. It comprehensivly out-performed the HSV against it (both were the respective top-of-the-line) vehicles in the range.
It's comparisons like that one, and the 1991 test with the R32 GT-R and VN SS Group A article where the Skyline out-performed the Holden that have contributed to its ambivalent status in Australia.
The new GT-R will catapult the GT-R nameplate further into the stratosphere, and if the rumoured performance benchmarks are anything to go by, then it would arguably be unfair to test it against the latest Holden/HSV product (should that time come). The new GT-R is aiming toward Porsche Turbo territory and would not be a direct competitor with the Holden as it doesn't race in Australian touring cars anymore....
I personally think the new GT-R is a handsome beast - a little sharp around the rear pillar and rear window line, but the one spy shot I have seen of the rear of the car (undisguised) was very masculine and 'tough'. I can't wait for its worldwide launch, and hopefully, a handful might lob in Australia.

Yep, fish to apples as some would say.
