With the Bathurst Sierra 89 winner such a smash I reserved the Johnson rock XD and 94 EB2 1000 winner from DJR.
I'd still like a Sierra and you still can pre-order 88 ATCC Johnson Sierras from them.
What will the rock look like with the model admin?
Will there be prototype pictures of Johnson 1980 XD and rock soon?

Actually, I have the samples somewhere. They came down about May.
We will do the model with the rock mounted on the platform right in front of the left hand front wheel. "A second in time" as they said.
I will try to dig one out tomorrow and put up a picture.
Yes we will do another DJR Sierra from the ATCC...about May 2003.

The Bubble for DJR is so big at moment by releasing another Sierra in May 2003 may shrink it at the moment. By possibly releasing the LJ Torana will keep a good skin on it. Biante already has a cast in its archives..

Well it's just a 'Marketing Thought'...

SWRT - I went to the DJR site but couldn't find a section of where to pre-order the cars... any hints?

thanks.

Does this list happen to have an expected release date of any of the models on it ?
If so, could you please share them with us, is being on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, its a little hard to get to DJR HQ.

Goldie et al, I recently emailed DJR (Perth is even further away!) about their pre-orders for models and I received a reply to the effect as follows:

Dear David

We have received an email concerning supply of the SIerra Model in the above collection dated 6th November and feel it has been retransmitted to us because initially not received.

Please note these models were completely presold prior to delivery to DJR, and that no models were available for Ex-Stock sales. Cars in this range are generally sold out prior to arrival. The best way to secure a model is to become a member - free of charge - by completing a form for future models in the collection. If you have not already done this, we can post you one if you advise your address or send one by fax (advise your international fax number).

Thank you for your interest in the collection.

I have not yet responded, so I haven't got a form as yet. Hope this helps.

Wombat, don't hold your breath. I've found on past expirence, that they are rather slow to respond to emails, thats when they do I might add.

Considering that the list of future releases for the DJR collection are begining to be completed, I was wondering what will be the next few on the way & when we might see them.

Below is the list of future releases from the FAQ section
1973 Group C, LJ Torana GTR XU-1 (Zupp's) - Released.
1977 Bathurst, XB Falcon GT.
1979 Lakeside ATCC, XC Falcon - Released.
1980 Bathurst, XD Falcon - Released.
1981 Bathurst, XD Falcon - Released.
1983 Bathurst Hardies Heroes, XE Falcon - Released.
1984 Bathurst, XE Falcon - Released.
1986 Bathurst, Mustang.
1988 ATCC, Sierra RS500.
1989 Bathurst, Sierra RS500 - Released.
1999 Bathurst, AU Falcon - Released.
2000 Queensland 500, AU Falcon - expected to be the next car released.

We all know that the Blue Roof AU (http://www.biante.com.au/merchandise.cfm?mode=vie w&MerchandiseID=12794) is in production planned (& has got to be the hot faviourite for being the next car released) & that the Red Roo XE will also be coming, but I was wondering what else do the guys at Biante have instore for DJR fanatics ???

I wonder if admin is able to give us an update on the progress (if any) of the EB/EF/EL & perhaps a little info on what cars we might see in the coming next few releases ???

I know a while ago it was said that a Championship Sierra (definately 88 & I wonder if we'll see a 89 as well ??) was also in the pipeline as being released soon, but that date has well & truely passed.

I also saw a list from a retailer that mentioned the Bathurst Prototype Barra might also be a part of the collection & i guess only admin can confirm or denify if this is the case.

What woudl other collectors like to see as a part of the collection ???

cheers. :)

I'd like to see everything in the collection!!!
To name a few, the
-1975 Shearers Menswear XU-1
-1977 XB ATCC
-1977 XB Bathurst(they had different paint schemes and numbers)
-1978 XC Bathurst
-1982 XE Bathurst Red Roo (Trevor Young told me this will be done)
-1983 XE ATCC Red Roo (ditto)
-1984 ATCC XE
-1985 Mustang Bathurst
-1986 Mustang Bathurst
-1987 Sierra ATCC
-1992 Sierra Bathurst
-1993 EB Bathurst
-1994 EB Bathurst
-1995 EF Bathurst
-1998 EL Bathurst

That would be a mint DJ collection.

I'd include these:

1988 RS500 twinset (first djr 1-2 in championship)
1988(?) RS500 Redkote Silverstone TT
1994 ED Johnson/Bowe Sandown
1995 EF Johnson/Bowe Sandown (as opposed to bathurst)
1996 EF Johnson/Bowe Bathurst (last podium for Dick)
1998 EL Lakeside (last win)
'89/'90(?) Thunderbird Johnson "Days of Thunder" Redkote
NASCAR

SWRT

and lets not forget the Johnson 86 wellington 500 JPS Mustang.

Barra
16-02-2004, 05:48 PM
1998 EL Lakeside (last win)

My records show the 3 races at Lakeside 1998 being Bowe, Ingall and Ingall with Johnson finishing second in each race.

I'd like to see the Group A XE as part of the collection, but I doubt it would be economical to tool up for what would be a one off.

Crap!

My memory must be fading... You are right about DJ finishing second on that day. I had a quick squiz through the records and it shows that DJ didn't win anything in the EL. I must be subliminally changing the "8" in 18 to a "7".

Mind you Gan88, I have no idea as to when his last race win was.

An EL should still form part of the collection though, it was one of the better looking cars going round at the time.

I reckon the EL is one of the better Falcons ever designed by Ford, with the exception if the GTHO Ph3's, and the current BA XR8's, and GT's. Just my opinion!

I think his last win was the 1995 Sandown 500.

His last race win in a championship event was the first race during the 1995 Bathurst round (where his wing snapped on entry to the Chase).

His last ATCC round win was in 1990 I think.

I think the EL has to be in the collection, if only for the fact that it was the last car Dick shared with JB at Bathurst. The EL did won, it was just that car 18 won, not 17.

I also seem the remember that the only reason Dick didn't win the Lakeside race was because Paul Weel (who was being lapped at the time) signaled one way & moved the other down the front straight, causing Dick to take avasive action & losing the lead of the race to JB.

Lets not forget the use of the EL in 1999 at the Indy which I think might have won in the hands of the Rat.

I have a Dinkum 1:24 of this car & would love a Biante quality, as it was one of Dick best looking race cars.

cheers.:)

I think that so far we as DJR model car collectors are not that badly off, The collection is looking very nice indeed as is the Brock and the Moffat collection esp. with the 61 XW as the latest edition .

I know it's been a long time since there's been a post in this thread, so I thought with Christmas quickly coming up, that I'd ask the tough questions :D

We all know that the 1978 Bathurst Cobra & 1988 ATCC Sierra is due for release sometime next year. But i was wondering when we may see them & of course the oftern asked question, what will be next ???

Personally, I'd like to see perhaps a Mustang or even one of the Falcons from the early 1990's....

What do you guys think ???

cheers. :)

The Red Roo cars would be welcome additions, but then again anything would! The Mustang will be great , but at the end of the day it's the '94 Bathurst winning EB that will be the most eagerly anticipated car for a long time.
I just had a look at the list I made on page one in Feb, and i'll stick with that - anyone of them would be the go.

There has been no official announcement, but considering the Moffat collection is coming in 1:43, there is a kind of assumption that so too will the Brock & Johnson’s at some time down the track.

I also noticed that the 1988 ATCC Johnson Sierra is now listed as in transit

cheers. :)

Thanks brchi17.

Although maybe not one of Dick's most popular cars, I think the Mustang model will be fantastic. I can still remember it cruising round Symmonds like it was yesterday.
