Mark, the 76 car does look very similar to the 77 ATCC car that was released quite a few years ago now, perhaps that's the car you are thinking of.

The 77 car had the #1 on it and the 76 car has #9 on it They are totally different in my books

the ATCC 76 winner has been released and would be almost the same as this one, save for the bathurst 1000 stickers.

Don't you mean the 77 ATCC winner. The 76 ATCC winner hasn't been released yet. But CC is doing it

The CC car yet to be released is'nt exactly the Chamionship Winning car as the car they are producing was the one that took part in the early rounds before its untimely demise, hence the red colour scheme. The car he wrapped up the title in at the Surfers enduro was in the same livery of the car just produced by Biante. Remembering in 76 and 77 the Championship included the Endurance rounds excluding Bathurst....

AmonFan is correct.

The 1976 ATCC stretched out over the whole year, much as the V8 Supercar Championship Series does today, but Bathurst was not included in the Championship back in '76.

Not wanting to start arguments on this thread, I'd still like to see Bathurst as a stand-alone event ... I think the reason that Clipsal today is such a great event is because every driver is braver at the first event of the year ... later in the year is when a driver and team really get concerned about points.

As for 1976, Moff drove three separate cars, dressed in four different liveries to achieve the Championship title. The #2 red XB was 'toasted' at Adelaide, thereafter Moffat drove the #7 Goss car for two rounds. He then had a new car - Project Phoenix - for Sandown, followed by a revamp of that car into the Moffat Ford Dealers colours that premiered as car #9 at Bathurst. He then drove car #9 at two more rounds of the ATCC and gathered enough points to seal the Championship before the season finale at Phillip Island.

I guess you could say that by removing the 'Schuppan' name from the bonnet and the 'Hardie-Ferodo' door markings, you'd have yourself the Championship winning car.

I would have bought this model, as the doors are now right and hinge properly BUT the front has still not been fixed and they have XC front eyebrows on the XB guards. This forces the grill out on the wrong angle and it still sits in front of the bumper edge instead of behind and below it.

The headlights are also too far out.

This was pointed out to Biante some years ago and it has still not been fixed.

Pity..........

Not being picky, just a general point of interest.....In general a pretty fair job of the 76 XB. However, were all of the models produced with no 'mesh' in the bonnet intake openings ???

The #25 Has plastic meshtype in the ducts.
What I find strange is that the drivers names and the Hardie Ferodo emblem seems to be not on the model.

I agree 100%. But I bought it because it completes the Moffat Falcon Bathurst collection (not including the 93-96 EB of course). The number and the different colour grille to the '77 ATCC car makes them look just different enough when side by side in the cabinet.
But CC's XB does look the business.....
