  • Great museums, I visited the US earlier this year and would recommend the following:

    - The Auto Collections - The Quad, Las Vegas - this is still there. Mainly older cars - 1950s through 1970s. Almost all the cars are for sale, some very special cars such as the 1948 Saoutchik Cadillac.

    - The Peterson Museum - LA - excellent as described above.

    - The Nethercutt colletion - LA - I didn't go here but this is apparently amazing, you can also view the 'grand salon' collection, which contains an even more exclusive collection.

    - The Mulllin Automotive Collection - Oxnard Calif. - All art-deco era french automobiles, some valued in them millions, the type you see at the Pebble Beach Concours. Includes the 1936 Bugatti Atlantic which is considered by some to be the most beautiful car in the world and changed hands last year for a reputed $35m.

I have a collection of photos if anyone is interested.

              Wow, that's such a coincidence.

I'll be in Darlington South Carolina from the 11th to the 13th for the Nascar event, then off to NY for the Motorshow and the launch of the 50th Anniversary Mustang at the NY Motorshow, we then head to Detriot then Vegas and then LA and fly out on the 26th!

So i reckon youll be there the week before i get there Tony, otherwise we should catch up!

                • I did the Mustang 50th Anniversary in Charlotte. I toured the race shops of Roush-Fenway. Hendricks and Haas-Stewart. They're well worth seeing. The highlight though was Carpenter Ford opened up their factory and museum the day before the show. In the photos look at the display cases in the background. They're full of Ford dealership memorabilia. I've never seen a collection like it. Unfortunately its only open to the public during special events.

                              • Mullhouse car museum is pretty good.

I like the Porsche museum workshop which is located on the ground floor. You can see the mechanics behind the glass wall restoring customers classic and rare porsches. Once your finish you can take the u bahn to the other side of Stuttgart to the mercedes museum.
