    started a topic Car Museums.

    Car Museums.

While looking through the thread Pug205 posted with pics from car museums in Japan I thought it would be good to start a thread to show members pics from various car museums that they have visited over the world. It seems we have some world travellers on the forum and I'm sure there are some great places to visit that many haven't heard about.

I've been fortunate with work travels to visit some pretty impressive places over the last (nearly) 9 years.

    Bathurst Museum
Porsche - Old mueseum twice and new museum this year
Mercedes - twice to the old one and once to the new one.
    Audi - twice
BMW - Old and new, once each
    Schlumpf Mueseum (France)

I've got a heap of pics but they are all on my work computer. I'll get into them and post the good ones here somewhere. Might need a flickr account as there are a lot.

If anybody has pics/reviews/advice of these or other museums post away.

the Gosford Classic Car Museum has closed and all the cars are being auctioned off next month. they had an ongoing dispute with the ATO relating to the dealership.

Toyota Museum of Technology and Innovation in Nagoya Japan. The museum is the history of Toyota from textiles to cars. The car part is really good. I was there mid week and there were more staff than customers. I pretty much got a private tour. Some staff can speak English and they have guide books to help as well. I spent the whole day there.

Toyoji Takayama's tin toy museum / collection in Kyoto Japan. Heard about this one while visiting Kyoto. A bit tricky to find as its in a secure apartment building. I had to buzz his apartment and he sent the lift down for me. He speaks very little English but makes up for it with enthusiasm. The collection takes up one full room. Its mainly cars but has other toys like robots as well. There's a special section on Astro Boy. He's published 3 books which he was happy to sign for me.

Been looking for a way to fill in my Queens birthday Monday, was thinking of the Geelong motor museum but it seems to have closed.
Anyone know what the story is?

Went to Gosford Car Muesem today with my son and Father, wow what a collection. Well worth the short trip up the M1. Thanks for posting about this venue. Hope it does really well for a long time.
